The U.S. Department of the Treasury is currently appealing a federal court decision that impacts the requirement for companies to report beneficial ownership information. As a result, companies are not required to file a Beneficial Ownership Information Report (BOIR) at this time, and they will not face penalties if they don't file while this order is in effect.
However, companies can still choose to file a BOIR voluntarily if they wish to do so. The Department of the Treasury is appealing that order and the legal battle on this matter is far from over, so the obligation to file a BOIR may still exist in the future.
